(Los Gatos, CA) -- Netflix is trying a new program in some Latin American countries in an effort to stop password sharing.

Starting on August 22nd, the company will offer an "add a home" option which would allow TV's outside the primary household to use the same Netflix account.

The streaming service will detect which homes are using which accounts with IP addresses, device ID's, and account activity. Netflix will offer a basic plan that lets users add one additional house, a standard plan for two extra houses, and a premium plan to add three extra houses.

The extra fee for the basic plan will be two-26 per month in Argentina and two-99 per month in four other countries.
