(Washington, DC) -- The Supreme Court has declined a request from the Biden administration about deporting immigrants but says it will hear arguments.

The Department of Homeland Security wants to prioritize deportation for immigrants who are considered a threat to national security.

Texas and Louisiana filed lawsuits over the policy, saying it conflicted with the law, and the Supreme Court agreed. The justices, however, did agree to hear the case and review the policy in December.

It will mark the first case for recently sworn-in Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
