(Palo Alto, CA) -- Twitter is refuting Elon Musk's claims that he was "hoodwinked" into making a deal to buy the company.

Musk offered to buy Twitter in April for 44-billion-dollars, but later tried to back out of the deal as stock prices plummeted and the amount of spam accounts remained a mystery.

Twitter filed a lawsuit against the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, but Musk counter sued last Friday.

In that counter suit, he claims he was "hoodwinked" into signing the contract because it was "implausible and contrary to fact." The social media company has dismissed this complaint, saying a billionaire CEO who is advised by Wall Street bankers and lawyers could not have been that misled.
