National average for gas prices down to $4.05 a gallon, under four in North Dakota

(Fargo, ND) -- The national average price for a gallon of regular gas continues to inch closer down to four dollars.

Triple A reports Monday's national average is four-oh-five a gallon. That's a drop of 16 cents from last Monday.

Texas and California continue to see the lowest and highest averages, respectively. Drivers in the Lone Star State are paying three-55 a gallon, while those in California are paying five-44 a gallon.

As for North Dakota, the peace garden state currently sits at three-ninety-seven a gallon. Cass County is at three-ninety-four a gallon.
