(Washington, DC) -- It'll likely cost more to access services at the U.S. Postal Service this fall and winter.

The board of governors has approved a temporary price hike that would go into effect on October 2nd. It would remain in place through the holidays before ending on January 22nd of next year.

The price hike would affect things like commercial priority mail packages.

The Postal Regulatory Commission must now consider the proposal.
