Governor DeSantis' press secretary resigns

(Tallahassee, FL)  --  The press secretary for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is stepping down to join the governor's reelection team.

Christina Pushaw announced her resignation Friday, effective immediately.

In a letter to DeSantis' chief of staff, Pushaw said it's been an honor to serve the people of Florida. She later added that the governor's office gave her "latitude to respond to media narratives in direct and often unconventional ways."

Deputy press secretary Bryan Griffin will succeed her.
