12 people transported to Hospitals after Carbon Monoxide detected at Chicago church

(Chicago, IL) -- Chicago fire officials say 12 people were taken to hospitals after high levels of carbon monoxide were detected at a South Side church.

The incident happened Sunday afternoon at the New Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Leaders at the ministry say members mentioned they smelled fumes and a gas-like smell. Fire crews arrived and measured high levels of carbon monoxide.

All of the victims were in good condition.
