Report: Some major insurance companies to end coverage for Kia, Hyundai owners

(Dayton, OH) -- Some major insurance companies may be ending coverage for Kia and Hyundai owners over ongoing theft issues.

CNN reports State Farm and Progressive have confirmed they're limiting the sale of new policies on certain models of the vehicles because they lack anti-theft devices that are used in other cars.

Thefts of Kias and Hyundais have skyrocketed across the nation since the start of the pandemic.

This stemming from a Tik Tok trend that got national attention in 2022, and has continued into this year.
