(San Jose, CA) -- TikTok is rolling out new features to help limit the amount of time kids spend using the social media app.
In the coming weeks, all users under the age of 18 will only be allowed to use the app for an hour per day.
Users over 13 will have to enter a passcode to continue using the app.
Those under 13 will need their parent's password to add an additional 30 minutes of screen time.
This as the app has come under massive scrutiny for ties to the Chinese Communist Part, with lawmakers even pushing to get TikTok banned in the U.S.
