(Washington, DC) -- There were slightly fewer job openings to begin the year.

That's according to a new report which says there were ten-point-eight-two million available positions.

That's down by just over 400-thousand when compared to December's  Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey.

The report comes as Fed Chairman Jerome Powell has described the labor market as "extremely tight."
