Trump's NY criminal case trial to begin March 2024

(New York, NY)  --  Former President Trump's New York criminal case will head to trial in March.

The judge in the case set the trial date for March 25, 2024 -- less than three weeks after the first Republican presidential primaries.

Trump appeared virtually in court Tuesday to hear terms of a protective order that bans him from speaking about evidence publicly.

It was Trump's first court appearance since he pleaded not guilty to all 34 felony counts last month.

The fraud charges stem from alleged hush money paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
