Experts warn about insects spreading West Nile virus

(Atlanta, GA)  --  West Nile Virus is the leading cause of viral disease spread by insects in the US.

That's according to a CDC study.

Every state but one and Washington DC reported more than 3,000 cases of arboviral disease that occurred domestically.

Just over 2,900 were West Nile virus and 227 of them died.

The disease spreads when mosquitoes bite infected birds and then people.
