Biden cancels $9 billion in student loans

(Washington, DC)  --  The Biden administration is canceling nine-billion dollars in student loan debt for 125-thousand borrowers.

While speaking from the White House, President Biden said the relief is changing the lives of Americans and is good for the economy.

The forgiveness applies to borrowers who have been on an income-driven repayment plan and Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

The move comes just days after federal student loan payments restarted after a three-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
