(Washington, DC) -- The Biden administration is announcing over a billion dollars of student loan debt forgiveness.
Borrowers in the Saving on a Valuable Education or SAVE program who have made at least ten years of payments will be receiving an email from President Biden today. That amounts to an estimated 153,000 borrowers. The Biden administration has now approved loan relief for nearly 3.9 million Americans.
A plan to forgive $20,000 dollars in loans for 40 million people was invalidated by the Supreme Court last year.
