(Brownsville, TX)  --  President Biden is calling on former President Trump to support the border bill that was rejected by Republican lawmakers last month.

Biden and Trump were both at the southern border on Thursday to address the recent surge in migrants. In Brownsville, Biden said the bipartisan bill is the "toughest, most efficient, most effective border security bill" ever seen, and called on Republican senators to "set politics aside."

"In order to truly tackle this problem and support the more than four thousand border and immigration officials who work in the Rio Grande Valley – which includes Brownsville – with the additional personnel and resources they need to secure our border, Congress must act," said a staff member in the White House Press Team.
