(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is extending the sale of a certain fuel to be available year-round.
On Monday, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced that it would be allowing the sale of E15 gasoline — gasoline blended with 15% ethanol — nationwide during the summer driving season. The issue is one that was brought up at a recent roundtable in Fargo with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins.
North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong issued a statement to Flag Family News about the move.
“The governor appreciates the EPA issuing this emergency waiver for the summer months as it has done in past years,” wrote communications director Mike Nowatzki. “But he would prefer that Congress permanently change the rule to allow for the year-round sale of E-15 nationwide.”
Flag Family News has also reached out to Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring for comment.
