Federal disaster relief money available to producers impacted by wildfire & drought

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Agriculture releases $1 billion in relief for livestock producers impacted by wildfires and drought nationwide in 2023 and 2024.

The Emergency Livestock Relief Program money is part of $21 billion in weather-related assistance in a bill passed by Congress and signed into law by former President Joe Biden in December.

North Dakota Senator John Hoeven says more assistance for producers dealing with flooding damage will be released this summer.
