(Washington, DC) — South Dakota’s own Senator John Thune is blaming Democrats for the federal government shutdown.
Thune spoke on the Senate floor Tuesday, saying the left pushed for a showdown with the president. Democrats, meanwhile, say Republicans forced the shutdown by refusing to protect health care.
Klobuchar addressed healthcare Tuesday ahead of the shutdown.
“This is not a joke,” she said. “People are literally standing on a health care cliff right now.”
With no deal in place, federal funding has stopped and won’t resume until Congress passes a new bill.
