(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota American Legion is honoring a fallen Grand Forks police officer. Cody Holte is being named its Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. The 29-year-old officer died May 27th while assisting sheriff's deputies who came under fire while serving eviction papers at a Grand Forks apartment. A deputy was shot, but survived, and a woman in the apartment was killed. Holte was also a first lieutenant in the North Dakota National Guard.
