ND Senate Sending Stand Your Ground Bill Back To House

(Bismarck, ND)  --  North Dakota senators are sending a Stand Your Ground bill back to the state House.  Senators approved a bill yesterday that removes the requirement to retreat before using deadly force.  Under current law, North Dakotans can use deadly force to protect themselves and their property only if they've tried other means to stop the attacker before using a firearm.  The bill is similar to laws seen in nearly 40 other states.  House lawmakers must now vote on the measure again after amendments were made in the Senate.
