North Dakota Ranks 6th Among the States with the Highest Credit Card Debts

(Fargo, ND) -- Credit Card debt and North Dakota unfortunately appear to go hand in hand.

Personal Finance Website Wallethub has ranked the state the 6th highest for credit card debt in the United States.

Data was pulled from TransUnion, the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Census Bureau and WalletHub’s proprietary credit card payoff calculator to determine the cost and time required to repay the median credit card balance in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

North Dakota's numbers in key categories are as follows:

  • Median Credit-Card Balance ($2,001)
  • Median Income ($49,539)
  • Cost of Interest Until Payoff ($183)
  • Expected Payoff Timeframe (13 months and 13 days)

Our neighbors to South, South Dakota, ranks as the lowest state for Credit Card debt in the country.
