(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota traffic deaths are trending up for 2021.
Officials say there have been 73 traffic deaths in the state so far, up from 62 by August 2020 and 65 by August 2019.
Vision Zero's Lauren Bjork says many of this year's deaths could have been prevented.
Bjork says about 55-percent of the victims weren't wearing seatbelts.
