Governor Burgum Raises Alarm Over State's Crowded Hospitals

(Bismarck, ND)  --  North Dakota's hospitals are crowded.

Yesterday, Governor Doug Burgum and doctors from several of the state's largest hospitals issued a statement warning that the North Dakota's hospital capacity was reaching critical levels.  One health official said hospitals had reached "redline capacity," and urged the public to help reduce the need for hospitalization.

As part of the state's response, the North Dakota Department of Health recently added four ambulances to help hospitals cope with the growing number of patient transfers, a significant percentage of which are COVID-related.
