(Bismarck, ND) -- Some ranchers and cattlemen are questioning how funds from the state's Beef Checkoff are used.
Ranchers pay two-dollars per cow to fund the state's Beef Commission, which uses the funds for education, marketing, and research of beef. Some cattlemen are criticizing how they are represented by the commission and want more of the money to go toward direct aid to ranchers.
Supporters say the over two-million the Beef Commission takes in each year funds many good programs.
