North Dakota ethics panel moves forward with conflict of interest rules

(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota's Ethics Commission is moving forward with proposed public official conflict of interest rules.

The voter-approved five-member panel voted unanimously Wednesday to advance the draft rules for public comment.

The rules are related to a section of the 2018 measure voters put in the state constitution that says officials should disqualify themselves from proceedings where they have a financial interest.
