(St. Paul, MN) -- State health officials are rolling out the COVID vaccination plan for children ages five-to-eleven.

The Minnesota Department of Health announced this week that the state will receive about 170-thousand-doses in the first shipment, with pharmacies set to receive an additional 80-thousand-doses.

MDH says parents will have plenty of opportunities to get their children vaccinated as the shots will be available at more than 530 clinics and hospitals statewide. To help with the influx of newly eligible patients, the mass vaccination clinic at the Mall of America has tripled its capacity to nearly 15-hundred doses per day.
