Two bodies recovered from Bemidji area house fire

Bemidji, MN -- Two bodies of two children have been recovered from a house fire near Bemidji.  The fire in Liberty Township, 13 miles northwest of Bemidji, broke out just after 6am Thursday.   

When firefighters arrived, the second floor of the house was fully engulfed.  They were told two children were possibly trapped in an upstairs bedroom but they weren't able to get to them. The house was a total loss. 

The bodies were taken to the medical examiner's officer for autopsies and identification.

A woman was transported to Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji. The extent of her injuries isn't known.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is trying to figure out what led to the blaze.
