(St. Paul, MN) -- A five-judge panel is considering arguments regarding redistricting.

Attorneys argued issues Tuesday related to how districts should be divided to allow the best voter representation for the next ten years. The panel is expected to released new legislative maps soon if the Legislature deadlocks on the issue, which has happened in each of the last five decades.

The U.S. Constitution requires redistricting every ten years based on data collected in the most recent census. Minnesota's deadline for finalizing the maps is February 15th.
