(Cohasset, MN) -- Minnesota Power is being ordered to refund its customers.
The utility must pay back four-point-five-million-dollars after a steam pipe rupture shut down their power plant in Cohasset for more than 50 days in 2019. A judge ruled that the failure could have been avoided if Minnesota Power inspected the pipeline more often.
The judge said the lack of inspections was inconsistent with good utility practice.
