(St. Paul, MN) -- Voting is now open for the second annual Name a Snowplow contest.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is sponsoring the contest. Voters can choose up to eight names from a list of 50 that have been reviewed by MnDOT staff and leaders.

Nearly eleven-thousand submissions were made before the choices were narrowed down. Some of the names include Sweet Child O'Brine, Uff Da, and Giiwedin, the Ojibwa word for north wind.

Voting will take place on the MnDOT website and will be open through January 26th.
