(St. Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota Legislature is awarding over 30 schools and bus companies three-and-a-half million dollars to buy and install stop-arm cameras on school buses.

The state Department of Transportation says it say more than a thousand stop arm violations in 2019.

State law requires drivers to stop when a school bus driver extends a stop arm and activates flashing lights.
