Dr. Scott Jensen and former Vikings Pro Bowler Matt Birk talk about Minnesota campaigns for Governor and Lieutenant Governor

(Fargo, ND) -- A former Vikings Pro Bowler and Super Bowl winner is running for Minnesota Lieutenant Governor.

"I was born here. I raised my family here.  I love this state and I'm grateful for a lot of things that this state has given me.  A lot of the success I've had in life is due to being a Minnesotan," said Matt Birk. 

Birk is running alongside gubernatorial candidate Dr. Scott Jensen, who is the republican front runner in the most recent straw poll. Jensen has been an outspoken critic of mandates related to Covid-19. Birk has similar views related to mandates, and has spoken against same-sex marriage and abortion.  Birk has a degree in economics from Harvard University. In 2019, he and his wife opened a faith-based school in Burnsville.
