(Minneapolis, MN) -- The first direct flight from Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport to London in two years has taken off.
The Delta Airlines flight took off Monday evening. The group of over 100 passengers was welcomed to the gate with balloons, live music, and complimentary tea to celebrate the airline's resumption of non-stop service to London-Heathrow.
The daily direct flight to London served 42-thousand people the year before the pandemic began.
