(Bismarck, ND) -- A 25-member sponsoring committee is making an effort to get recreational marijuana on the November North Dakota ballot.

The committee submitted a petition to Secretary of State Al Jaeger Monday, detailing a proposal for legalizing the possession and purchase of small amounts of marijuana for adults 21 and over.

The measure would also implement policies to regulate retail marijuana dispensaries and growers.
