(Bismarck, ND) -- U.S Senator John Hoeven is defending a Trump-era border policy.
The federal Title 42 order provides authorities with the power to deny illegal aliens a chance to request asylum on the grounds of preventing the spread of COVID-19. The Biden Administration has worked to end the Title 42 authority and the CDC is facing suits from several states to keep that from happening.
Hoeven has criticized the administration for trying to end the policy. Officials also say law enforcement, schools, and the healthcare system may not be prepared for the possible influx of illegal aliens if the policy is reversed.
