(St. Paul, MN) -- A number of groups are calling on Governor Walz to bring lawmakers back for a special session.

Governor Tim Walz said Tuesday that he's optimistic about reaching an agreement with DFL and Republican leaders to start a special session in both legislative chambers. Two issues that remain unresolved include changes to Minnesota gun laws as part of the public safety bill and the passage of a bonding bill.

Group organizers released several statements, calling for lawmakers to return to St. Paul to finish the remaining bills.
