(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota lawmakers are signing off on accepting the first round of funds to come to North Dakota from a federal infrastructure law.

The Federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law was passed by Congress last fall, freeing up funds for infrastructure projects across the country. The Legislature's Budget Section approved funding requests Tuesday from several departments to use the federal money.

North Dakota could see over a billion dollars of new federal money flowing into the state from the infrastructure package over the next five years.
