(Minneapolis, MN) -- Fire officials say they believe the situation has stabilized along University Avenue and the University of Minnesota campus after a sewer explosion and fire led to evacuations.

Several blocks of U of M campus around University Avenue and the Fraternity Row area were evacuated Thursday when the fire and explosion were sparked. Minnesota State Fire Marshal Jim Smith says officials are being vigilant as they investigate the situation.

Monitoring continued over the weekend as an investigation continues.
