(Washington, DC) -- North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer has introduced the Unborn Child Support Act.

He is one of 11 Republicans behind the act, which would allow mothers to receive child support payments while they are pregnant. The act would also require judges to consult with mothers on payment plans and would give mothers discretion as to whether or not they would like a paternity test.

The move comes as many Republicans shift to healthcare for expected mothers after the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the U.S. Supreme Court last month.
