(St. Paul, MN) -- An old dam on a Central Minnesota trout stream is being removed.
The Department of Natural Resources built the dam on Little Rock Creek in the 1970s to level up the water in a pond the agency hoped would be used for duck hunting. The dam is now considered obsolete and the gates are set to be open.
The agency hopes the move will cool the stream and better support the population of trout and other fish.
