Update: Authorities in Towner County say four bodies recovered, apparent murder suicide in wheat field

(Update: 9:30 a.m.) -- We now know more details on a crime scene in Southwestern Towner County.

The Sheriff's Office there says they were called to a wheat field in the 6100 block of 66th street northeast for a report of four unresponsive individuals. When deputies arrived, they found four people dead on scene, all from apparent gunshot wounds. This included the person who fired the gun, which was found in their possession near the three other people.

Sheriff Andrew Hillier has noted the scene appear to be a murder-suicide. It remains under investigation.

(Towner County, ND) -- Authorities from the Towner County Sheriff's Office, Benson County Sheriff's Office and North Daktoa BCI are investigating a crime scene in the southwestern part of Towner County.

WDAY Radio has received reports that four bodies may have been found in a field, and that a possible murder took place. We've also receieved reports that the suspect in the supposed incident has been taken into custody.

Authorities say there is no threat to the public, and have not confirmed the details reported by those nearby to WDAY Radio. As of Tuesday morning, no other details have been released.
