(St. Paul, MN) -- The Department of Natural Resources is warning Minnesota waterfowl hunters about the dangers of bird flu.

DNR officials are advising hunters to take precautions when handling harvested birds. Officials are getting reports of avian influenza in wild and domestic birds in the state as fall approaches.

The virus can be transported through hunting equipment, so DNR officials say hundreds should plan for added biosecurity measures.
