(Bismarck, ND) -- New omicron strain-targeting COVID boosters are on their way to North Dakota.
The state Department of Health and Human Services announced Tuesday that it is ordering nearly 20-thousand doses of the booster. The combination shots received federal approval last week.
The drug makers claim that the tweaked versions of the first generation vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna provide protection against the original virus and the newest omicron variants.
This comes as COVID-19 positivity numbers drop after a brief jump across the country.
