Former EGF Mayor Lynn Stauss dies

East Grand Forks, MN - Former East Grand Forks Mayor Lynn Stauss has died. He was 77. Stauss suffered from kidney disease and had been on dialysis.  Stauss was a long time teacher who spent 21 years as mayor and was instrumental in helping the city recover from the devastating 1997 flood.  

Funeral services for Stauss will be held Friday at Hope Church, at 1601 17th Ave S, Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a prayer service to follow.  

Stauss will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks with a Police Honor Guard and Military Honors taking place. Stauss served as a Military Corpsman during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star for meritorious service in a combat zone.  

Stauss is survived by his wife, Marjorie, 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
