(St. Louis County, MN) -- An 80-year-old man is facing several sexual abuse charges while he was a preacher in the 1970's.

Court documents say Spencer Main groomed two girls who were as young as 3-years-old. The allegations say it escalated into sexual acts at Main's home in St. Louis County. He is charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct of a child, two counts of sodomy of a child, and four counts of indecent liberties.

A woman reported the abuse in 2011, but prosecutors were unable to charge Main because the statute of limitations had passed. Main can be charged because The Minnesota State Legislature removed the statute for criminal sexual conduct last year.
