(Fargo, ND) -- A District 41 candidate is looking to earn your vote in the upcoming November General Election.

Lillian Jones is a candidate, 14-year-resident, and representative for North Dakota's District 41. She joined WDAY Midday to speak about her goals if she would be elected; which include bipartisanship, tackling legislative integrity, and defending the right to seek an abortion in the state.

"I'm a paralegal by trade, a longtime advocate for women and children, "said Jones, "I've lived in the district since I've moved here."

Jones emphasized the importance of bipartisanship, but also highlighted the need to call out and criticism what she calls extremism. She says the sudden focus on topics like Critical Race Theory, fighting against legal abortion, and discussions around banning books in schools will hurt North Dakotans.

"Now we are talking about banning books. What kind of country do we live in, "said Jones with a tone of disbelief, "How can we prepare our young people with a future of success, curiosity, creativity, and problem solving skills if we deprive them of foundational information."

Lillian Jones is running to be re-elected to represent North Dakota's District 41 in the upcoming November General Election. You can learn more about voting in North Dakota by clicking here
