(Bismarck, ND) -- A North Dakota resident is looking for your vote in the upcoming November General Election.

Ryan Braunberger is a candidate looking to represent North Dakota's District 10 in the State Senate. Braunberger says he wants to focus on improving housing, mental health, and childcare facilities across the state if elected to the position.

"I want to make sure we are representing all North Dakotans, making sure that we are listening to everybody's needs and everybody is helped,"said Braunberger, "I'm just here to listen to people, that is my main goal. I want to listen to the citizens of North Dakota and make sure that their voices are heard in the state."

Braunberger voices support for a "Housing First" policy for homeless residents, which he says is a way for those residents to take care of other issues they face in life. He says this would expand housing support programs to allow homeless residents to live in areas they wish, instead of being forced to live in specific predetermined zones.

"[With] Section 8, you can live pretty much anywhere in the state. Anywhere you want, but that is a federal program, so that only goes so far, "said Braunberger, "I'd like to have something similar like that in North Dakota, where we have those resources available to allow people to live where they want to live and not be segregated to a certain part of town. Often when that happens, they end up getting back with individuals that are experiencing the same issues and sometimes they can relapse easier."
