(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota's Attorney General is looking to deliver on one of the promises he made during his election campaign this year.

Drew Wrigley says he is planning an expansion of his office's Medicaid fraud unit.

Wrigley is planning to ask the Legislature for additional funding to pay for extra staff for the unit. The current unit includes six members, including one attorney, two BCI agents, auditors, and support staff.

He says increasing funding will be worth the effort, by reducing fraudulent charges.

This comes as Wrigley is looking to 'revamp' the AG's office, with more funds also being directed to the state crime lab too.

The legislative session begins January 3rd.
