(St. Paul, MN) -- A proposal to legalize recreational marijuana in Minnesota is still alive at the State Capitol.

If approved, the bill would also expunge low-level drug convictions. It wouldn't erase the convictions, but it would hide them from public view, including background checks for jobs and housing.

More than 60-thousand marijuana convictions would be expunged if the bill being considered is signed into law.

The proposal does not include violent drug-related crimes.
