(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota lawmakers are proposing legislation to create a new state-funded public entity.

Joint legislation would create the Minnesota Climate Innovation Finance Authority that would provide new ways to fund clean energy projects.

The legislation would use both private and public investments to help organizations overcome financial barriers to investing in green energy.

Lawmakers are asking for about 45-million dollars to fund the new entity.
